Heidi Ho,
Well, this is what my life looks like these days and this is why I never write in my blog any more.
Ok, I wake up and go to work just like we all do 6.45-18.30. So I can complain about the waking up, killing traffik, boring collegues, bosses riding your back (in my case it's a collegue riding me, even the boss seems scared of him) getting stuck with loads of work just 5 minutes before finally going home.... and then dragging your feet to repeat the same process 5 days a week.
But added to this me and Nacho have class every evening 19.00-22.00. This is the best part of the day, though. Nacho's learing how to manage a camera and I'm learing post production. We are working on a little scetch together for the final project which will be due in the end of the course in February. Some days we think this business idea we have of making corporate video is the smartest thing we could ever do, other days we wonder what the heck were we thinking???????? But oh well, if it doesn't work out we still have our jobs... the difficult part is taking the big plunge and quit your jobs before the orders are coming in, but if we don't do it we'll never have a portfolio to show.
And what interesting can I tell you about our evenings? We get home at 22.30 totally pooped, make a quick dinner, try to make the house not look like a battle field and once in a while we try breaking the routine and go out to meet someone for dinner och catch a movie before crashing to bed.
All you people with kids... how do you do it?!?!
Weekends, well, I can't complain about the weekends. We often leave town. We go the village (will post photos), we've been to Stockholm two weeks (but that was so stressfull I'm afraid someone I didn't talk to will read this and ask: when the heck were you here and why didn't you call me?!) I've been lucky enough to have some wonderful friends for visits (thank you Nicklas and Maria and Jesper!!!!) This weekend we are heading out to a rural B&B with some friends and christmas...
....for Christmas we are going to NEW YORK!!! Me, Nacho, his mom, his brother and his sister in law are heading out on Dec 25... four wild days of broadway and Manhattan and I don't know what (nacho and his bro are going to Maddison Square to watch the Nicks playing against... hmmm, whatever... basketball, who cares?) And we are flying back on new years eve! So we'll be ringing in the New years ... where... oh, darn, I thought we would do it several times but we are going in the other time direction. Darnit! But me and the sis in law are dressing up in evening gowns... never flown in a ball dress before!!!
So... more photos later from New York

The house, the house is on fire
A neighbor called me at work one day telling me that the neighbors appartment was on fire and that the whole house got evacuated. She had heard the windows explode and when she looked out she saw a huge flame crawling up the side of the house.
This is the story: a junikie had called on the door of some french students living there. He put a knife to their troat, tied them up, robbed them blind and set an aerosolcan on fire and left them there to burn alive. A little too amazing to believe, that's what the police say.
On the road again...

Coming to Stockholm!
Next week we´re going to be in Stockholm! Yippieyahyeah!
We are so looking forward to it. Yeah, just look at our eyes... you can see the looking forward in them!

(Actually it´s more pathetic than that, we´re looking at a cute little kid crying after his daddy on a balcony wearing nothing but grandpa underwear and with a big round belly that is still cute on a boy that age - but men seem to think it´s cute on them even after the age of 35.)

We had plans on buying an adorable little cottage across from Anna´s house outside of Umeå, but it got sold even before we had our appointment to see the house, and it got sold for almost twice the price the owners were asking for.. oh well, maybe it´s for the better. I mean, do we really need to own yet another house?! In the end the houses start owning you (I say wiping the tears out of my eyes).

Maria and Jesper came to visit last week! That was great. Too bad I was completely exhausted the whole time cause I still haven´t gotten used to the routines here... go to bed at 1, up at 6... maybe a siesta in the afternoon... and constantly speaking a foreign language. But enough about that. It was great to see the two of them!

We took them to all the highlights of Madrid and it was fun to hear what friends from Stockholm have to say about my new home town.
We went to Toledo one day... and for once I brought my camera!!! And just as I pointed that camera at my beautiful guests the batteries died... so it was only Maria taking pictures.

... and she got some papparatzi photos of me and Nacho...

Vardag i Madrid
Soon I have been in Madrid for 2 months. I still haven´t taken any photos but I don´t have to feel like a tourist any more, I´ve got a job! Doing marketing research for the yellow pages, lots of numbers to analize, and lots of report to write. The best part of the day is when Nacho gives me a ride to work on the motorcycle. The hardest thing is getting used to the hours... 8 am - 3 pm, no lunch. Well, and the language. Phew, life with subtitles is really tiresome.
But it´s nice to have the evenings off. Staying at home making a nice dinner and watching a good flick on the dvd still feels fresh and special, but probably cause we're often out meeting his friends and family. I still haven´t made any friends of my own which is really strange, I´ve never had problems getting to know people but I´m finally starting to make small talk with my collegues.
And Nacho´s crowd is really nice. We go to concerts, have BBQ´s, dinners, etc etc. Some weekends we head out of town and the last couple of weekends we´ve spent with Nacho´s dad and little sisters in a small small village out in no where, hiking in the mountains and swimming in the river.

Life, love and Work
Ok, no exciting photos... Here in Madrid, getting used to sharing my life with someone special, trying to be as settled as possible so the camara stays at home more than it should.

Sweet Satana
Well, just as you think life will swing to the better fate reminds you that we are not immortal. Just days after I had arrived to Madrid I received the news that my sweet Sataña had died in a morbid accident. She was more than just a pet, she had been my friend and roommate for 7 years. My sweet little Budha. We were so looking forward to moving her down here to become roommates with Nacho´s cat, Samuel. And only one week later Samuel passed away silently in some strange lung disease. We are fighting the urges to buy a puppy, cause another cat won´t do... it just won´t be the same.

Pictures from the good old days

So, why am I all of a sudden loading my blog with all new material? Well, I´ve got myself a beautiful new MacBook so that I can work more easily from home... and elsewhere. While I was at it I got a scanner and now I´ve been going down memory lane... Good old days in Uppsala.
1997
After our first house warming party. I have no memory of that kitchen without dirty pots and empty beer cans.
A hung over Anna, yes, I´m sure it´s Anna and not me. This is from when we had the same due.

Sara... these ears still appear once in a while... but are usually worn by little miniature saras.

Da girls, we were a trio always dressing to match eachother, but without ever looking like anyone else.

Hot babe Nicklas when he used to have hair

Sweet Nicklas with Soli... who now lives in Toronto. Me and Nicklas stayed at her place this summer but she wasn´t there... :-(

2000

once we were models, now we are just gorgeous.

Now, why is Sara washing her feet before a party?

Anna from the theatre´s multiculti party... oh, I have to find the pictures of me and Maria, we were suposed to be from Africa

Sara in cognito... ha ha, this is the time we were going to the store to buy magazines to write an article on pornography

But sometimes we just got dressed up and had our own parties at home. Anna always shined the brightes, even if she wore black!

From the play Tango, me 20 years old playing a 50 year old woman pretending to be 20... good thing I´m such a good actress

Anna & Maria

Da girls again

Our little mascot, Marc, who lived in my closet for a while when he had just moved here from France. He later got his own room. But then he wasn´t Marc-in-the-closet any more and I kicked him out.

Nicklas & Pernilla from one of the annual spring parties

2002
But times change and people move and new people come into your life.
